After being lost to its creator the dark lord Sauron, the ring of power passed through two hands: that of Gollem a creature twisted and evolved by the ring, and Bilbo Baggins a hobbit of the Shire. The ring stays in Bilbo's hands for sixty years when he decides to leave the Shire forever, leaving everything he owns to a member of his family Frodo Baggins. But deep in the dungeons of Mordor Gollem had been tortured into reavealing where the ring is with two words, "Shire...Baggins!" The dark lord sends his dark serveants, the Nazgul to take the ring. Gandalf the Gray and later accompanied by Aragorn, helps Frodo and his gardener Samwise Gamgee them reach the elven home of Rivendell. The high councel of Elrond appointed, Frodo, Sam, Mary, Pippen, Aragorn, Gandalf, Legolas, Gimmli, and Boramere, to set on a quest. The fellowship eventually falls apart as in the struggle they lose both Gandalf and Boramere, while Sam and Frodo desert the rest to reach the dark land of Mordor on their own.
